A Blessed 2010 To All Of Us

2010 Greetings

It will not be too long and we will leave 2009 behind. Everyone will be busy preparing for the arrival of the new year. As we greet 2010, may we not forget to thank our Almighty God for all the good things and not-so good things that He allowed to happen in our lives in the year 2009. And as we leave 2009 behind, let us also leave all the pains, regrets and hatred behind. Let us learn to forgive those who inflicted us intentionally or unintentionally. May we also not forget to pray for our family and friends and for our nation. May we also pray that 2010 will be a better year for ourselves.

Let us say hello to 2010 with thankful and joyful heart!
A blessed 2010 to all of us!

Post-Christmas Post

Two more days and the world will be celebrating Christmas. Two days ago, the world celebrated Christmas. I remembered that when this season comes, we usually review the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ (Did I not mention that I grew up in Sunday School?) in our Sunday School classes. And when I became a Sunday School teacher too, I taught the same topic whenever the month of December comes. Why? Because this is the best time to remember how Christ was born and for what purpose :)

Let me share with you two things about the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. And I sincerely hope that this post bring some enlightenment to all of us.

THE DATE OF THE BIRTH OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST
In the Bible, the exact date of Christ’s birth was not stated. You may want to check Matthew 1:18-25, Luke 2: 1-16 – These are the references in the Bible where you can read about the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ. And probably, Christ was not born on a December, much more on a December 25. Because Luke 2:8 says “And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.”(KJV) During December, Jerusalem’s temperature does not even reach 200C. Would the shepherds bring their flocks out in the field in that temperature? Would it not be much appropriate to bring the flock in the field if the weather is warmer even in the night and not during the cold season?

How come the Bible did not record the date of Christ’s birth? The birth date of the most important being in the whole world? Was it just accidentally forgotten? Definitely, the answer is NO. It was not recorded intentionally. Why? Because the date is immaterial and what is important is the fact that Christ was born to save the lost sinners like me. He do not want His birth date to be remembered or celebrated but the world is persistent. They created a date for His birth. The Lord Jesus Christ knew that when the date of His birth is published, the focus of the people will be on the date and the occasion and not on the purpose of His coming. And if you haven’t realized yet that Christ birth and death is for you, for us – to save us from eternal damnation, then His birth and death is in vain in your life.

THE THREE KINGS
THREE KINGS is no where to be found in the Bible, moreover, the names Melchor, Gaspar and Balthasar. You can only find wise men, no names and no specific number. Yes, there are three kinds of gifts given – Gold, Frankincense, Myrrh – but it was only an assumption that each kind of gift came from a single person. There is no account in the Bible that it was so. Isn’t the same kind of gift can be given by different people? How many photo frames you received this holiday? Were they given by the same person? Definitely not, right? The wise men maybe three, or maybe six or hundreds. No one knows because the number is not important. The important thing is gifts are given to the Lord of Lords and King of Kings to honor and glorify Him. The wise men didn’t exchange gifts to themselves. There was only one recipient of the gifts and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.

This scene is very far from what we practice today, we do not give the gifts to the “birthday celebrant/celebrator” instead we exchange gifts within ourselves. True? Sad, but this is true. This is how the world (the Enemy) deviate our focus from our Savior to ourselves. We merry(Is this the reason why we greet Merry Christmas) by attending parties, eating sumptuous food, exchanging gifts and buying gifts for ourselves. But how about our the Lord Jesus Christ, what is the present we bought for Him? Did we remember to thank Him for coming to this sinful world to save us? Do you know that He offers the best gift for us? An everlasting life. We only need to accept it :)

The birth of Christ is as important as His death. If one is missing, no one has a chance to be in paradise someday.

To end this post, let me leave you a very familiar verse. John 8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Paypal Fund Withdrawal Experience

Last Tuesday, December 15, I decided to try withdrawing my funds from my Paypal account to my Banco De Oro (BDO) savings account. Before hand, I know that Paypal fund can be withdrawn using Union Bank’s EON facility. Most mommy bloggers I know who earns from their blog use EON. But with a head as hard as mine, I chose a different way :D . This is because as much as possible, I don’t want to apply for a new account with other banks if can use my existing bank accounts. I don’t like keeping so many accounts. Good news, I received the money on time. Bad news, it is not the amount I expected :D

Since, it’s just a trial, I only withdraw the minimum amount which is $10. Based on the Paypal’s withdrawal page, the current exchange rate is $1 to Php 44.9986. For the $10, the Gross amount is P449.98. Since there is a withdrawal fee of P50.00, the amount to be credited to my account will only be P399.88. To my dismay, I only received P199.98. There is a discrepancy of P200. Waaaahhhh!!!!! 200 is still 200. Hahahay! But this is my fault. I failed to finished my homework. I didn’t checked the remittance fee. I was thinking that the P50 deducted from the gross amount is already the fee :(

WithdrawReceived
Anyway, I will just charge the P200 to the cost of my experience. At least now,  I am aware that there is a remittance fee. I need to check with BDO personnel the remittance rates because I can’t understand the rates posted on their site . I might just also open an EON account. I heard that there is no remittance fee for EON account.

How about you? Do you have any experience with Paypal fund withdrawal? Do you think EON is better?

b. Who is your favorite Hollywood actress or supermodel younger than 30?
c. Choose one. Shoes? Bags? Clothes? Or make-up?
d. What is your favorite sleepwear?
e. I joined this contest because_______________.

What question do you think will I answer? Come on! Make a wild guess :D . Yeah right! I will be posting about the pinks within my 10 feet range. Why do you think I chose this question? Nah! Pink is not my favorite color.   But this is the color I used to love before. Well, my preference already changed. But I still find this color cute and adorable for little princess like my daughter. So I indulge her to love this color, at least for the time being ;)

The reason why I chose the first option is because the contest is all about pink and I believe the hostess is a pink fanatic. The prizes to be given away are proofs that Mrs. Kolca is in love with pink.

Pink is the most attractive color for my daughter. If you will dig my previous posts, you will learn that for my daughter, pink is synonymous with pretty and beautiful. All other colors are simply not so good for her. If I will take a shot of  all her pink things, my disk space would probably exceed the limit. So I only took the pictures of the first items which my eyes immediately captured.
