This adorable baby needs our help and prayer. She is nine months old and needs a surgery to o close the linings of her muscles so that her intestines won’t protrude down near her private part. She the youngest daughter of Mommy Rubz of Pinay Mommy Online.

Mommy Pehpot of Bee Mommy is helping Mommy Rubz to raise the fund needed for the operation. Below is how the fund-raising works. I hope you can join this Blog Review For A Cause.

A hernia is the protrusion of an organ through the wall of the cavity that normally contains it. When a hernia is not repaired, it may become strangulated. When strangulation occurs, there is a danger that part of the intestine be caught in the hernia cutting off blood supply to the tissue. Also, when a bowel obstruction occurs, it leads to severe pain, vomiting, nausea and inability to have a bowel movement or pass gas. Although Hernia happen to boys mostly, girls can also experience it.

We can help raise the expenses needed for Bella’s operation by purchasing a blog review from her Mom, Mommy Rubz. A blog review from her PR3 blog. The review is consist of 150 words (all positive) with 2 links (home page link) and an image of the header or screen shot of the blog to be reviewed. One link with the blog title as the anchor text and the other link is on the image.

Please send me an email (pehcats@gmail.com) with the url of the blog you want Ruby to review.. and will reply with the url of the post and the paypal id where you can send the payment and if you are generous enough, you can even add more to the $10 price… will be waiting for your email!

Have you seen a PR10 site? Well if not, it is time to visit Anak ni Kulapo. Surprised? We have the same reaction. How come Google is so generous with this site??? But don’t be deceived! The page rank 10 is just a hoax and just there to <del datetime="2010-02-04T11:46:23+00:00">shock</del> amaze first time visitors like me. If you will look closer, it is an edited image for page rank 1. But that is still not the real PR of the site and I am not also there to investigate about the site’s PR. If you got curious, go and find it yourself .

Anak ni Kulapo is a humorous site maintained by man who what wants to be known as BURAOT. The site is not for General Patronage as it contains words not suitable for young audiences. The author uses Filipino colloquial words (pabalbal o mga salitang kanto) to entertain his audiences. The author recognize that his articles are not for very young audiences that is why he put a warning (BABALA) on the top left side, a place which any visitor can easily see.

The author tackles his subject in a light way but a reader can agree with me that there is some deep sense on his posts. Just like Ang Alamat ng Sinkong Kulot. This article can make the readers laugh. But behind the laugh, the reader can also relate about the increasing prices of commodities that even dying becomes very expensive. The article also allows a little older readers to reminisce his/her childhood. Lastly, it also shares about the value of saving money as early as possible.

BURAOT is generous with linkbacks as a matter of fact, frequent visitors and commenters have the chance to be included in the Alagad ni Kulapo page. So if you want a juicy link back, just visit the site and leave a comment.

As for the look and feel of the site, almost everything is there in their proper places. Although the sidebar is full of widgets, they are still neatly arrange. The site is equipped with most common widgets/plug-ins like search, recent posts, categories, rss feeds subscription, archives, sitemap and etc., If there is one thing in the look and feel that I don’t like, it is the font size used for I am not fond of small fonts. My eyes get easily tired when reading an article with too small font.

For the nice to have widgets/plugins, I suggest that the most popular posts be added and related post link (link within). These features will encourage the readers to stay longer. And since BURAOT is religiously answering his commenters, it would be better if he can apply a Reply plug-in for the comments. This will notify the original commenter of his answer and will encourage further discussion for other commenters.

The site is for non-conservative readers. If you don’t get easily scandalized by pictures like this, and foul words like mga ^&*@ng inonsente and the likes, and you like humorous post with double meaning words, then you go and pay the site a visit. But if you happen to be a Maria Clara type, the site might just offend you so just visit another site.

Disclaimer: This review is done as one of the requirements for the ongoing contest of K and Pehpot. All that are written in this post is purely based on the observation and opinion of the author. The author does not mean any harm nor offense to anyone. If you get offended by the post and want the post to be taken down, just leave a message and the post will be immediately removed.

If the term minimalist is applicable to blog, then Mom Conversations have it. This is the first time I visited the site and I am doing this review to support K and Peh’s ongoing contest. And again, all that is written below are purely my opinion based on my observation. I intend no harm nor offense to the owner or anyone.

Mom Conversation is one of the neatest blogs I’ve visited, from header, content, sidebar to footer. In the header, you can only find one spanish word “BUENO” which when I tried to dig the meaning, means Good. Well, the site is Good indeed. The site focus only on four categories namely; Baby, Featured, Health and Fitness, Hot Topics, Parenting and Pregnancy. That organized! Seeing her categories made me wish to have my categories that few. Aside from the sidebar, the categories are also the menus. Hmm… quite redundant but does not give any harm on the overall look of the site.

The sidebar has only three sections – the least sectioned sidebar I have ever seen – Categories, Mom Conversation which also the Hot Topics and the Recent Posts. The site has no site map , archive section nor related post links. Hence, limiting the readers easy-access to those that are only listed on the Hot Topics and Recent Post. The only fancy thing that is in the sidebar is when you hover the links. The color of the text changes that gives a moving visual effect. When you hover on the links on the sidebar, an alt tag containing a summary of the article will be displayed. This I believe encourages the visitor to read the entire article.

The About Page and the link of Umma, the author’s page, gives me a hint that the site is newly created and it not yet fully done. I also checked the incoming links (well, out of curiosity) of the site to know who linked the site because I didn’t see a blog roll and the result confirmed my initial suspicion that the site is new.

Nonetheless, the site has a good potential to boom. The articles are really interesting and the way they are written gives me an impression that Umma is well-versed in English command. Her article about How To Treat Hemorrhoids is very informative and made to ask myself if Umma is somehow related to medicine.

The font family, sizes, weight also get my thumbs up! The size of the font used for each font does not tire the eyes even for long-time reading. Proper font weight is also implemented for emphasis.

Since the site is not yet fully-made, here are the things that I think are nice to have.

Feed subscription via email

an archive or site map

most popular post

As a whole, the site is recommendable. So please visit the site when you have time.

If you are a frequent blog hopper, you have probably encountered her name on the comment pages of different blogs. She is one of the members of the prestigious Marce Club organized by none other than Pehpot. I can say that she is a generous Ninang to Sati based on her extravagant gift (quote from Pehpot’ post) on Sati’s Christening Day and a very special bath tub for her adorable inaanak. Her generosity also extends to Kaye and Pehpot’s contest, by being one of the major sponsors. Without further adieu, let me introduce the owner of the blog I am about to review, Ms. Seiko Fukami of Seiko’s Diary.

SEIKO’S PLAYLIST
When you first landed on Seiko’s Diary, you will be welcomed by the sounds coming from Seiko’s Playlist. This is the owner’s preference and she has all the right since Seiko’s Diary is Seiko’s very own personal blog. However, the owner should be aware that her site is open to public and many people visit her site from time to time. There are some that are not really bothered by the sound while reading but there are also people like me, who has an attention deficiency, LOL! who easily get distracted by the sounds. I think it would be safer if the playlist is on stop/pause mode by default and will just be played by those who intends to listen while reading. And for those who browse with their speakers on, a playlist which is on play mode by default might cause some shock when landed on her site.

SIDEBAR
Based on what I read, Seiko is a dual career mom, hence her blog url is adualcareermom.blogspot.com. Aside from being busy as a full-time mom to four lovely ladies; Misaki, Nagisa, Yukiko & Yuriko and as a loving wifey to the last Samurai of Fukami family, Yasuyuki, she is also a full-time worker. She is the Vice-President of the Asahi Printing Press, co-owner of Blue Hawaii Club and the owner of a DIY station. This is probably the reason why her side bar is quite left behind. I noticed that there are buttons on her sidebar which should not be there anymore. The arealso some plugins/widgets which are extended beyond the page (e.g My Community of Blog Catalog, PubBlogLog, EntreCard, TopLinks ). It would be nice if these widgets should be attended and fixed. I also discovered that the My Top Commentator is redirected to emotemylife.blogspot.com. Is it intentional or just an honest mistake?

This lovely mommy is not only generous with monetary value but also with backlinks. You can see on her sidebar all the weekly memes she religiously supporting and patronize. Her kind-hearted nature is also manifested by supporting The For A Cause Giveaway. The different awards received by her blog displayed on the sidebar proves that she is loved by many bloggers too. But I am wondering why the page rank is not displayed. Having a PR3 blog is something that Seiko should be proud of Making the Recent Posts, BlogMates and Labels scrollable is a wise move for me. It saves some space on the sidebar and lessen the information being displayed. But the scroll bars of Live Traffic can be removed since there is still enough space left on the bottom that gives an impression of emptiness.

CONTENT
Seiko’s Diary is a personal journal of a Filipina by heart and by birth yet embraced the Japanese culture and citizenship all but for love. The site contains her journey and her initial struggles as a wife of a Japanese and her joy and rejoicing after she was eventually accepted by her husband’s family. You can see here another living example of a true Filipina who does not easily gives up on trials and challenges. You can also find in the site her entries for different memes hosted by her friends, milestones of her kids, greetings for her friends, appreciation of the things she received and many other personal notes. Seiko also post recipes like Crouqette which I was tempted to try last Friday.

Seiko’s Diary is a updated on almost on a daily basis. You will surely know the author of this blog once you started reading her posts. She is so honest to reveal her feelings and her experiences. She is not ashamed of her humble beginnings and remained humble despite all her achievements in the past. So if you want to know Seiko better, it is a must that you visit her site. By the way, her name means SUCCESS which very suited her.

CONCLUSION
Seiko’s Diary blog may not be the superb blog in terms of template aesthetics nor the right place for eloquence. But the impact of the content surpass all the outer flaws! No wonder, the site maintains loyal readers from all over the world. These readers are always excited for the new post of this lovely blogger because they are sure that each post always comes from the heart of the writer. Whether it is something about her journey as a mother, a sweet memory with her Yasuyuki or words of love for her friends, rest assured that you will be sweep off your feet by her heart-to-heart post.

Disclaimer: All that are written below are purely based on my observation on the site. I don’t know the owner of the blog personally and I have nothing against her. If you feel that my post is offensive, please let me know by leaving me a message and I will immediately pull it down.

It is now or never. Yes! Finally, I’ve decided to conduct a blog review over a giant in the blogosphere, if you may call it a review . You may call it suicidal and ambitious because a nobody on the arena of blogging chose a somebody as her subject on her first ever blog review. You may call it insanity but who cares, nobody cares even the care bears!!! (Sounds familiar? not very original ). Okay, let’s begin!

This is not the first time I landed on this PR 4 site, if I am not mistaken. But on my initial visits – months ago- I found the site very chaotic. Everything is cluttered and I can’t find any post except for the post for the Entredroppers. I even tried to leave a note stating my desire that my site be included in the list of the Entrecard drop list but I am not sure if my message reached the owner. I came back for two or three times more. But since I thought it was just an Entrecard Drop site, I stopped visiting the site.

I noticed a big change on the look and feel of the site during my recent visits via Kaye and Pehpot’s Blogversary Contest’s page. I even thought that the person behind the site is a woman. But the Entredropper page reminded me of its previous colors – black and yellow. While it is true that the theme is quite feminine, I definitely agree that it is better, a lot better, than the last one.

This is the result of a Goliath site on a David’s perspective.

FONTS
The main font used is a kind of font that encourages visitors to stay longer. The font size is big enough not to stress the eyes of the readers plus the size of the first letter for each post adds elegance and authority.

SITE NAVIGATION
The site provides ease of navigation. A visitor can easily jump from one page to another through the top menu but I find it redundant to see the same links on the side bar. Another good point on this site is the site map. A new visitor can easy grasp the entirety of the site through the site map. The site’s owner provides two ways to access the archive;by category and by month and year. Most recent articles and most recent comments were displayed on the homepage. This encourages visitors to read other articles, hence to stay longer on the site. It would be better if the site has “most popular post” section so the visitor can easily know what is the most read article. The search (within the site) form provided in the site is also helpful to the readers to look for previous articles using keywords.

SIDEBARS
The sidebar is very neat. It is not loaded with so much information and advertisements. The content of the side bar changes depending on the page or category of the post being displayed. The owner also provides a convenient way to book mark the site and post’s urls. Statistical information can also be found on the sidebar which gives the reader an idea on the position of the site on the blogosphere.

FEEDS
A good site should always have an email subscription form because this is the fastest way to inform the loyal readers of the new articles. And it is good that the site does not only provide feeds through email subscription but through rss as well.

POSTS
I only read few posts. But based on the articles I’ve read, the author is fluent in English writing. There is spontaneity in every post and the idea is being expressed clearly. Whether it is a self-proclamation, reaction or a simple endorsement, the author can expressed his objective in a creative manner. My fear is that, the author might also be sued by those he called pea-size brained for his blunt and fearless words. So beware, if you are a sensitive type reader, I suggest that you avoid his site

The site is a personal site of one who wants to be known as BURAOT , a Filipino colloquial word with negative implications, and contains his views and opinions on politics, love and relationships, nature and environment among many others. You can also find here his sentiments for being sickly. The author of the site provide a special page to introduce himself. If you are curious about him, why not pay him a visit?

The less important things are just left in my mind. A day of journey on I Am Buraot is not enough to give a just review. But nonetheless, my journey on the site is a worthwhile journey.
