Blog Make Over

Welcome to my new theme. It may not be a full blown blog make over but I am starting to love its neat appearance. Thanks to Headway Themes for making my new theme an easy task. Everything is easy with Headway Themes as base template. Even a non-WordPress techie can do the customizations. It likes serving the theme in silver platter.

This is only the second time that I changed my theme since I migrated from Blogger to WordPress. The my first theme, Letter Frame, was a freebie of SixRevisions.com. I used it for more than two years. Thanks to SixRevisions for the freebie.

My new theme is not yet fully done. I have not done so much customization yet. Meaning, most of the styling are the defaults of Headway Themes. I never thought that I could finally have the guts and time to implement a template that is based on Headway. But here it is now. Yey! Only few more styling customization and my theme is ready to go.

I hope my new template would encourage me to update more often.

Networked Blogs

Igot curious how other bloggers post their feeds on FB wall. So while waiting for my tasks from my full-time job yesterday morning, I tried to explore how it was done. So the culprit was the Networked Blogs application of FB. I immediately registered my two blogs, unfortunately when I write a post to test the feed, only the feed from Online Mommy’s Corner was displayed on my wall. Networked Blogs could not retrieve the feed from my other blog. Until now, my posts are not yet displayed on the blog feed section of my Networked Blog Profile. I’ve tried to pull the feed manually, but still no post appeared. Is it because the blog is relatively new? The other blog is just more than five months. I had no chance to explore today because I was loaded with tasks from my full-time job. Hopefully, tomorrow I can try to figure it out again. If you encounter the same problem and has found the solution, maybe you can share it with me *wink* *wink*.

I believe that a good blogger should always try his/her best to respond to the comments left by their readers. Sometimes I am left with a question if I will answer the comment on my own site or leave my answer to the readers site. I usually post my answer on the commenter’s site as on out-of-topic comment. But sometimes, time is not so kind that it does not allow me to roam around to answer all the comments one by one so I just answer their comments on my own site. My concern is how to let the commenter knows my response without returning to my site and searching the post where she/he left a comment. This concern is answered by Subscribe-To-Comment feature of Word Press. This feature will allow the commenter get notified via email when there is a new comment posted on the post. The commenters only need to mark the Notify me of followup comments via-email and presto, updates will be directly delivered to their inbox.

I hope you as my reader will benefit from this feature

I was planning to put a “Follow Me On Twitter” button on my site and so, I searched Mr. google where can I find free Twitter images. I was overwhelmed with the results. There are so many sites giving away free Twitter buttons and these buttons are all wonderful. I haven’t picked one yet for my site, because there are so many buttons that I really like and I am having a hard time to choose the best. I will ask my husband’s suggestion tomorrow.
