Would you agree that our blogs are form of investments in which we expect some return of investment (ROI) in the future? Whether we expect a monetary or non-tangible return, still we expect some fruits from our blogs.

Our initial investment would be our time and effort to put up a blog whether we use a free platform and hosting or buy our own domain and small space for hosting. If we decided to have a self-hosted domain, then we started to include our pocket in our investment. If we opt to dress our blogs a little and we don’t have the design skills, we avail of makeover services. Again, this isn’t free. And the more we invest our money, time & effort to our blogs, the more we (should) protect them from catastrophic events which might bring our investments to nothing.

If you buy silver coins, would you put them in an unsafe place where they can easily be stolen? Would you announce to anyone that you have some in your possession? Would you allow your kids to play with them in which there is a big chance that they will be lost? Will you not keep in them in storage where you think they are secure and will you disclose them to anyone whom you don’t truly trust?

The same care and protection should be done with our blogs especially if we earn from them. We should protect them from thieves in the form or hackers and spammers. We should always ensure that our sites are secured and protected. And if we want to succeed in our investment, we should at least learn the basic rules how to increase the probability of higher ROI. In blogging, I believe it is important that we learn basic HTML, CSS and image editing. Better if we also try to learn how to use FTP clients so we can backup our files by our own.  We could also try to learn basic database concept for database backup. These basic concepts will help us protect our sites in times of untoward incidents and the good news is, these concepts are widely available over the net.  You only have to ask Mr. Google

The amount I received is not big but enough to cover the payment for their 14-day Ad. Yes, I also used the payment I received to place my Ad on their system. I added $4 to extend the 14 days to 31 days.

I noticed a tremendous improvement in my Alexa rank while my Ad was being published in their system. Since then, I always hope that I reached the minimum payout so I can renew my Ad with them. But I am not an active member. I have no time to roam around to complete the number of clicks per day and there were many days that I have no posts. This prolongs the completion of the minimum payout. But nonetheless, after being a passive Adgitize member for several months, I still got a payment from them. Not bad, right? Now, I am expecting another great improvement in my Alexa rank Thanks to Adgitize.

This is only the second time that I changed my theme since I migrated from Blogger to WordPress. The my first theme, Letter Frame, was a freebie of SixRevisions.com. I used it for more than two years. Thanks to SixRevisions for the freebie.

My new theme is not yet fully done. I have not done so much customization yet. Meaning, most of the styling are the defaults of Headway Themes. I never thought that I could finally have the guts and time to implement a template that is based on Headway. But here it is now. Yey! Only few more styling customization and my theme is ready to go.

I hope my new template would encourage me to update more often.

I seldom have the time to update my sites regularly nowadays. I can’t focus much on writing because my mind is set to finish my other project. When I’m not in front of my computer, ideas are coming in. But when I log on to my dashboard, all the ideas fly. I end up doing other tasks like dropping and reading other blogs, worst playing Burger Shop 2.

Well, now I’m doing my drops while thinking of romeo y julieta cigars and its difference from other cigars if there is any. I’m only sure of one thing, all cigars are not good for our health.

I started redesigning its template last week. I spent a sleepless-Friday night to complete it. But I failed. I did some updates between work this week but still the site’s template is not fully-completed. Now, I perfectly understand Kaye when she’s designing a blog and mine is not even an inch with her.

I‘m preparing this site for our coming family trips (as if there are many, LOL). I want this site to contain post about our family’s activities – I hope I can stick to that goal . It does not contain anything relevant yet just full of test posts and test comments for me to see the look and feel. I haven’t started yet the badge and fav.icon and still needs to update some more styling. It may still have some glitches that I want to seek your help to identify

Seriously speaking, most of my working hours are devoted to my full-time job. I need to because my current project entails so much brain. I need to think, think and think! Unfortunately, it is difficult, almost impossible to change gear from primary to the fifth gear. Meaning, my previous project was almost a no-brainy project. When my husband see me deeply thinking in front of my computer (sometimes, talking to myself loud), he usually teased me. He would tell me that isn’t this is the project I want, a project that utilizes my brain as an application developer. Well, his words are true. But it was just hard to find a momentum after a bit long duration of doing a content management project.

So please bear with me if you don’t see much of me nowadays. I am online everyday, but just can’t attend to my blogging duties.
