Sometimes, I pity these graduates, because I know that the courses they have chosen are courses which are really expensive. Aside from the tuition fees, medical-related courses are accompanied with many laboratory fees. Besides the expenses, these courses also entail rigid internships for the students. In the end, after investing so much money and effort in these kind of degrees, the graduates will just end up either jobless or doing things not related to their field. I think it would be somewhat helpful for them if we have local health care job listings here in Philippines where all employers can post their needs for medical staff and the medical-related graduates can search for their desired position.

My desktop is around three years of age, almost the same age with my daughter. Since then, I made no major upgrade. The CPU is intact with its original parts except for the power supply which I replaced twice. I haven’t upgraded the memory which is just 2GB. I am still using the original HDD with only 150GB capacity. Its Intel Core II processor still works. And even its defective optical drives were still inside. I can’t still find a budget for the replacements for now.

My machine can be considered obsolete now for many new high specification machines came out since I bought it. But I don’t think its near retirement. Not yet, at least for the next couple of years. I hope. I still need it for my full time work.

Now, I am planning to use my desktop for my work permanently. I will just use my laptop as backup in case my desktop fails. But if I can avail of another free license of Windows 7 Professional (hopefully) and my laptop is no longer covered within the warranty period, I might reconfigure it again *wink* to suit my development needs.

Before we left the 5th floor of Pasig City Hall (this is where the drug test is conducted), we inquired if it possible that only one person can get the forms for all of the other employees. The answer is NO. The lady on the window (who was still kind that time) suggested that we request for reservation. She directed us to look for a certain person inside the drug test room. Two of my officemates went inside to inquire. The first person told them that only with a minimum of ten employees can place a reservation. My officemates were pointed to another person to confirm. The second personnel told my officemates that only with a minimum of twenty employees can place a reservation. Both answers disqualify us from placing a reservation. We were left with two options. First is to return the next day but earlier. We should be there before 8 AM. Second, let our drug test be done in a private clinic or laboratories. The second is more costly but more practical. I don’t think it is practical and wise to waste our time in a long line just to save few hundreds. The unproductive waiting time will be more costly for the company.

This kind of event makes me feel so disappointed. I am not supposed to report to our office today but because of this mandatory drug test, I have to travel from QC to Ortigas then to Pasig. My officemates and I wasted two hours traveling from our office to Pasig City hall and going back. Add to that is the heat of the sun which caused my head to ache. Now, I feel so tired yet I haven’t accomplished anything.

Last Saturday, we tried to buy a drinking water from nearby water station. But all of the nearby water stores have no more water to sell. Hubby was able to buy from the next baranggay.

It was only last Sunday night that we had an ample supply of water. I was able to clean the house and do our week’s laundry. We were able to fill the water drum which we still use until today. We had no water yesterday, not single drop of water came out of our faucets. I hope that before the water from our drum runs dry, it rains in Norzagaray, particularly in Angat Dam area, to increase the water level of the dam.

Probably, my mind is occupied with many things that is why I am so forgetful nowadays (Or is it just another sign of aging?). For those who haven’t experienced it yet, your EON internet banking account will be locked out after entering two invalid pins. It happened to me last Wednesday. I was about to check if my PayPal withdrawal has been credited to my EON account when my first attempt failed. I tried another pin and kaboom! My account has been locked out!  Added to that, I didn’t noticed there was a warning on the screen that I only have one more invalid attempt. How foolish right? EON is less gracious with invalid pin attempts compared to my other online accounts in which the allowable attempts are three. So EON online users, be careful.

Like any other sane being (yes, I still think I’m still sane, LOL), I checked the website of Union Bank if it has a directory of the branches. I want to know the phone number of the branch where I got my EON card. The website has the branch directory with the numbers. I dialed the number and I told the person who answered my call about  my problem. He gave me a number to dial for my concern. I dialed the number given to me and I was again given a number to dial. The same thing happen on my next call. It was a random test of my patience and good thing, I passed it. I finally got the right number on my fourth call. She told me that I will be emailed on the instruction how to reset my pin/password. She also informed me that I only have one more attempt for that day on an ATM. If ever my card get locked out, I have to wait for 24-hours before I can use it again. But do you know that the hotline number for EON cardholders are just right on the back of the card? Maybe, I was in panic that I didn’t bother to check

I replied immediately but didn’t hear from them anymore. But ever since I received their email, I tried to squeeze my mind to remember the generated pin given to me when I claimed my card. Another foolishness! I should have changed it immediately.  There were only four numbers playing in my mind. I tried one combination last Saturday and it was accepted. I was so happy! But because I was so excited that I already remembered my pin, I forgot to change it again! And also this morning when I saw a Union Bank atm. Sigh! So you see how cluttered my mind is. This is the effect of thinking so many things at the same time Good thing, I do not forget my husband and daughter, LOL!

Few meters away from the house, daddy went back to the house to get her towel. She is always bathing in sweat.

This was my daughter’s chance to be with Ronald alone. It is very seldom that we get a chance to see Ronald sitting by himself.
