Mommy Moments – School Days

mommy moments

This is the 3rd week since my daughter started going to school. She’s not yet formally enrolled and just attending the class as a sit-in student. Although, she’s just sitting-in, my husband and I decided to buy her books, notebooks and other school things so she will not feel different from her classmates. We also bought her a pair of black shoes because every morning, when I dress her up, she always asks for a black shoes. During the first and second week, she was wearing her Sunday shoes which was white.

This was she during the first day of school. She was not yet in uniform. She was not too happy to go to school, was she?

This is she after class. Too tired eh?

Friday of  her first week in school, the registrar gave her the display uniform for the ID pictorial.  So after a week,  she was already in uniform but in white Sunday shoes ;)

Her books and notebooks

Her other school stuff

She’s the youngest in her class at her age of three. She never missed any school day yet and it seems that she’s really enjoying their class. She started learning how to write through tracing. She’s also improving with her coloring skills. I told her that when she colors an objects in her books, the colors should be confined within the object’s boundary. Any excess color results to ugly work. As the days go by, I see that she’s really improving.

Abstract?

Improving isn’t?

She’s also learning memory verses. Aside from the previous memory verses I taught her, she learned two more. Isn’t that great? Now, she’s on the third memory verse which is  Exodus 14:31b.

She is  still under probationary. In one or two weeks more, the teacher will assess if my daughter is ready for Nursery class.   Do you think Sciezka is ready for real school? I will let you know the assessment of her teacher.

Mommy Moments – Field Trips

mommy moments

As you all know, my li’l darling is too young to have a formal field trip. Because of this, I don’t have a valid entry for this week’s Mommy Moments theme. But allow me to share my thoughts about it :)

As a mom, one of the events that I look forward to are field trips of my daughter  (and future son :D ). I am excited to join my daughter with her future field trips (stage mom bah???) And if possible, I would also encourage my husband to join us. It will be quite a budget though. So I should be saving for it as early as now LOL. Kidding aside, the reason for this is first to bond with our daughter. Second, to be part of my daughter’s learning memories. I always want to be the first one to answer my daughter’s inquiries about anything. And definitely, during a field trip, she will see new and unfamiliar things. Questions will be formulated in her mind. I want her to remember that I am or her dad is the first one who explained to her those things. I want her to have a good memory of the explorations she will have in the future and I want to be a part of that memory.

Though my daughter, does not have a formal field trip yet, we always bring her to different places where she will be exposed to places and things  which are not familiar to her. We brought her to Rizal Park last year, Quezon City Parks and Wildlife thrice and Quezon City Memorial Circle almost every other Saturday. If we have extra budget, we bring her to the beach for her to be familiar with the sea and won’t have any phobia to it in the future. It will also be good if she will also learn how to swim at a very young age.

This year, we are planning to bring her to Manila Zoo and Malabon Zoo – the less expensive parks and Zoo. We also have plans to bring her to Manila Ocean Park. But since the entrance fee is little bit expensive, we want to bring her there if she can fully appreciate the place and aquatic animals. These are still plans and will only happen if the Lord permits.

Mommy Moments – Cars And Kids

mommy moments

Today’d theme for Mommy Moments is about Cars and Kids.

This is my daughter’s official car errr bike! Ever since we bought this bike a year ago, it has been her service when we go to church or any nearby place. My daughter is not fond of walking, in other words, she’s lazy! She always want to be carried. This was also the reason why we bought this bike, for convenience. But this bike already retire. I will tell the story on another post.

She’s about to attend a wedding in our church

So where is the car? You are impatient, lol! We don’t have a car, yet LOL. But I don’t see it as lack on our part. Although, I must be honest that having a car gives so much convenience. We already prayed for it and I believe God has prepared it. He is just waiting for the perfect time to give it to us. But while waiting for God’s answer to our prayer, He sent a part time car. What I mean is, He gave us a friend who shares her car with Ezka.  Since the time  my daughter started attending church, ten days after she was born, her Ninang Myra almost always takes her home. Daughter gets too familiar with her Ninang’s car to the extent that my she will leave us – me and my husband – just be able to get a ride on that car.

She’s trying to open the door. This is right after the midweek service.

My daughter feels at home on her Ninang Myra’s car. Every after worship service, her poor Ninang Myra is obliged to take her home. During the times that her Ninang can’t bring her home, she would cry hysterically as if  the car is carnapped. That’s how my daughter love this car.  This also the car we used as bridal car when my husband and I get married.

I really took time last Wednesday to take  my daughter’s pictures on her Ninang’s car for two reasons. First, for Mommy Moment entry and second, as souvenir. Sooner or later,  her Ninang Myra might sell the car and get a new one. At least I have something to share with her when she grows up.

Mommy Moments – First Aid Tips

mommy moments

It is Mommy Moments day again! The theme today is quite different. Joining mommies will talk about their First Aid Tips.

Here in our house, we have the basic first aid kits which includes, alcohol, Betadine, Band-Aid and paracetamol. Salbutamol nebule and Lagundi syrup for kids are also always available for my daughter’s asthma.100_0018100_0021

Here are some of the basic First Aid procedures that we had performed in the house.

Minor cut – wash the wound with running water. If the bleeding doesn’t  stop, sprinkle someinstant  coffee powder on the wound. We drop some betadine after the bleeding and cover it with band-aid.

Minor burn – we apply ointment for burn. If the ointment is not available, we use the toothpaste.

So far, only these two accidents usually that happen inside our house.

Food Trip Friday #1 – Crouqette

This is my first time to join this meme. I am not cook diva but I am a good eater, lol! That is the reason why I gained so much pounds for the last three years.

Anyway,  in support of Kaye and Pehpot’s contest, I made a review of the major sponsors. And one of them is Seiko’s Diary. While doing the review, I got the chance to read her Crouqette Recipe. The image she provided made me decide to try her recipe. Not as delectable as her crouqette , but I am happy that I was able to do it. Hubby also liked the taste and asked me to again the same food next time. Next time, I will try not to over fry, Lol!
