My Daughter’s 4th Birthday

Yesterday marks my daughter’s 4th year of existence. She has no request this time unlike last year that she requested for balloons, party hat & cake. Just for her to recognize that it was her birthday, I bought her pre-printed birthday banner and balloons and hubby stick them on the area where we hold our Children’s Sunday School. And to make the day more special, I made the snack for the kids different from the usual snack that we provide them. I prepared hotdogs and cupcakes with icing. Daughter also insisted to her father that she wanted to render a song offering. So before hubby delivered the Message, he called our daughter for her song offering. And that’s it! No big celebration for her birthday. But we are happy that she’s happy on her birthday. And we are thankful to God that He gave us a very unique daughter.

I made the icing. It is my first time to try making an icing (just tried it for my love to my daughter). I know that it is far from perfect. Maybe next time it will be better.

My daughter received another package. This time, it is from my mother for her birthday which will be on the 29th of May. Included in the package is a light yellow dress. She already wore the dress last Wednesday for our midweek service.

My daughter loves book as much as she love watching Dora videos. When we visit a store in Tagbiliran which is known for selling cheap goods, my daughter discovered that the store is also selling children’s books. While I was looking for something I could give to the Sunday schoolers as rewards, my daughter was also doing her own shopping. When we met, she handed me the the things she want to buy for herself.

Here are the things she picked from the shelves:

A Dora Book worth 30 pesos. (less than a dollar)

A Winnie The Pooh story book with four short stories worth 50 pesos.

A Dora activity book worth 15 pesos.

A set of stamper worth 30 pesos.

And our little reader. She can’t actually read yet, she’s just fond of scanning the pages. But before she sleeps, I read the books for her.

Mommy Moments – Birthday Photo

Birthdays are not usually celebrated here in our home. It is just like any other day. But of course we never forget to thank the Lord for another year He has given us.

But I think daughter is an exception to the rule. During her last birthday, she requested for balloons, party hats & cake. She also announced to our neighbors and to her friends in the church that she would be celebrating her 3rd birthday. That left no choice but to cook some food for her visitors. Her wishes were granted by one of her Ninangs.

This reminds me that in more than a month she will be turning 4. We haven’t reminded her about this yet. We will yet to see if we can afford to cook for her because our fund is running out. We might just buy her a cake or treat her somewhere on her special day.

Dolphin Watching

Dolphin watching is one of the tourist attractions here in Bohol. My husband and my daughter experienced it yesterday as they escorted some visitors from Mindanao on an island hopping.

Last two Saturday ago (super late post because I was not able to download the photos before Hubby brought the camera to Cebu), after our afternoon visitation, we learned that one of the church dwellers received a package in our behalf. The package was from my former officemate. The package was not for me but for my daughter.

When my daughter saw the package, among the things that first caught her attention was the Baby Bible. She immediately picked it up and scanned the pages. This proves her love for books.

While I was fascinated with the slipper house boots. It was my first time to see such kind of boots

Financially, we are not well-off and my God who knows that. There are things which I can’t buy my daughter because we have other priorities. I believe God provides them through other people. Thank you so much Jooh, for being a channel of blessing to my daughter. May God bless your kind-heart.

Camera Critters – My Daughter’s Anak

This is my daughter’s baby! She calls it “anak” (my child). My daughter waits for this little creature to come home every night. And when she wakes up in the morning, she always asks us if her “anak” is around. If she didn’t see her “anak” before she slept the night before, her first question to us in the morning is “Did my ‘anak’ come home?”

Believe it or not, almost every night, this little creature comes home. Well, of course we are not sure if the same salagubang or scarabs comes back every night but there is at least one coming home. Yes, at least one because sometimes they were two of them.

When we heard something bumped the glass jalousie, we knew that it’s my daughter’s “anak”. One time, we brought this little creature in our room on the second floor of the house. When we woke up, “anak” had left. But that night, the little creature came back, not downstairs but in our room. We concluded that the little creature return to the place where he left.

Mommy Moments – Purple

This week’s theme for Mommy Moments is Purple. Fortunately, ~~i’m~~ daughter is fond of purple, violet, lavender and similar shades. For her, those are all purple.

Her first slipper is purple.

She also has a violet Sunday dress. When she first wore this dress, it was floor length. Now it is just below her knee.
