I have no internet connection the whole day I couldn’t also contact the customer service of Globe Telecoms, which is my current internet provider. I could not also send an SMS via my mobile phone which is also connected to Globe. Lack of internet connection ruined my schedule

I am hurrying to finish the remaining tasks for the current Milestone I am working on because I need to get my pay as soon as possible. My payables which need to be paid are piling up including the annual premium of my life insurance. I already received the anniversary reminder from SunLife for my annual payment. And since I am no longer a regular employee, I need to pay my SSS quarterly premiums voluntarily. Besides the two, the bills of my DSL and phones have arrived and are almost due. My daughter’s payment for her PACES also needs to be completed before the start of the school year. So I really need to hurry the completion of this milestone as my payment depends on it. The internet connection interruption didn’t help at all.

I wish I live in other country where I can file a legal action against the provider for the inconvenience it caused me. But I will surely demand for a rebate for the hours their service was down. I think it is just fair, right?

Have you ever done a presentation report? Do your jobs require you to submit a presentation report regularly? Fortunately, with my job, I don’t need to prepare presentations on regular basis. The only report I need to submit everyday is a status report containing my daily accomplishments and list of TO DOs on the next day.

With all the productivity-tools available nowadays, presentation reports can easily be done. The most commonly used presentation software is Microsoft’s PowerPoint which is quite expensive. But don’t worry, there are also free and downloadable available tools which you can use in preparing your presentations just like the Open Office. These softwares can convert a dull-numeric table to visually attractive and easy-to-understand charts in no time at all.

There are fewer concerns if the presentation reports can be delivered in soft copy. Just save the presentation to a storage device like USB or send it via email, and presto! The presentation will already be available to the target person. But what if your boss requires you to present it on a hard-copy? Will the slide print-out be enough to impress your boss? Isn’t you will look for an attractive folder where you can place your print-outs or reports to make sure that your boss will at least take a glance of your work? And if you have an access to any custom presentation folders, will you not prefer to use them to present your report?

In preparing a presentation, the main concern is the content. But the look-and-feel of how it is presented will greatly affect if the content will at reach the eyes of the target reader.

I am getting frustrated with my current development task. I’ve been doing the task since last week. I thought it was already running but when I accidentally test a scenario, I found out that it was not. Until now I am still stuck with this task. The worst part is while the completion of this task is being delayed, my salary is also delayed.

I really need to focus to complete this task. I have set aside other assignments behind like gathering some information about testosterone booster. I re-assign some of my tasks to a pal while I declined to some.

For now, I need to prioritize my development project because I’ve already gave my word that I will finish it. But after this project, I’ll probably take some time to rest.

Although I have some experiences on other technologies like Oracle and Delphi, my core expertise were on Microsoft products.

Recently, as our client had decided to temporarily halt our two-year offshore service to them, an opportunity for me to learn another technology opened. This technology is Java, the counterpart of Microsoft .Net technologies.

Java is not a new technology. As a matter of fact, I had a Java subject during college. But I realized that the Java I learned eleven years ago was totally obsolete with the current development in Java programming. I am totally lost as I study again this language and the other technologies associated with it. The more challenging part is that I have to learn it through self-study. As I started to try the tutorials available over the internet, the more I realized how big Java development is. But as a senior developer, I am expected to learn it with minimal supervision. As an eager-learner, I consider learning Java as an opportunity for me to learn more and to get out of my comfort zone as a developer.

My internet connection went out last night, just before six o’clock. The tie of the antenna to the pipe gave up but though the antenna didn’t fell on the ground, it was misaligned. Hubby tried to return the antenna to its original position but unsuccessful to get the internet connection back. I called up SMARTBro’s Hotline and was able to get a schedule for tech support visit. But guess when? According to the CSR, the earliest available date is still on the 14th, that is eight days from now. Whew! I have to wait that long just to get my internet connection back. Efficient huh?! This is a red light for me because my work revolves around the computer and internet connection. I have to report to our office everyday to get my tasks done. Tedious and expensive, right? And of course, it is too uncomfortable to travel everyday because of the heat of the sun. Imagine, even inside an FX, I am sweating all over because the air-condition of the vehicle is enough to overpower the heat outside. And on my way home, I’ll be inhaling the polluted air for almost an hour. Terrible! I might die in just a week of having no internet connection. It is exaggerated, I know but thinking of going to the office everyday is really dreadful for me. Aside from that, I’ll have so little time to update my blog and to visit other blogs. I have to call the Hotline again tomorrow to check if there is any chance to get my schedule earlier.

Why? Because the observance of Labor Day is moved on Monday, May 3, 2010.

I mentioned on this post that May 1 is usually a holiday if it falls on a weekday. In this year’s case, May 1 is Saturday so I don’t expect to have an extra day off for this holiday. But because of the generosity of the government with holidays and the current holiday economic policy, the celebration of Labor Day is moved to May 3, 2010, Monday next week. This means that Monday will be a non-working holiday! Another long weekend coming!!! Hurray for laborers like me!

On our way home, me and the other girls in the office, pass through St. Francis Square where many food kiosks can be found. Some of the foods serve in the kiosks include siomai, hongkong noodles, hotdog, takoyaki (veggie ball), sisig, and many more! . Our favorite stops are in takoyaki and the siomai stand. While we are eating, we usually talk with the attendants about the business. And we realized that the attendants of the siomai stand are also the owners, a father and son. The son is on his early teens, I supposed, but he’s already exposed on running a business. And instead of wasting his time on unimportant things, he helps his dad earn.

Owning and running a business is a lot better than being an employee, how small the business maybe. And the father’s decision to franchise a siomai stand and to place it in a well-populatedarea is a wise decision. But it is a wiser move if he also avail a business insurance for their business as a protection for their investment.

Yes! You read it right Our project group were given two days paid day-off, Thursday and Friday. Our US-based client is so generous to give this rest days with pay. And in case you forgot, Monday is a national holiday. Meaning, I will have a very long weekend. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to have a vacation nowadays. Our budget is so tight. I will be using the day-offs to see an OB for some checkup and also request a schedule for pap smear. I also need to visit the mall to buy my daughter the things that she will be needing on Monday. OH I forgot to mention that my daughter was requested to be part of my churchmate’s wedding entourage as a flower girl. I don’t know yet if I will buy her a new pair of shoes because she might not like it and won’t wear at all! But if ever we have an extra budget, I will bring her to the mall to let her choose the shoes she likes to make sure that the shoes will not just be another display on our shoe rack.

My husband will be throwing-out a dinner to some of his closest Pastors tomorrow night to express his gratitude for their prayers for the result of the LET. Instead of a dinner-out (which is more expensive), he convinced them to have the dinner here at home. As if we can cook well and our house is big! Nyahhaha! Anyways, he decided to serve only the dishes which are very easy to prepare. Among the dishes he listed include kinilaw na tuna with grilled liempo, sinigang na hipon and grilled bangus. One of the pastors requested for fruit salad for dessert. I think the dishes are good enough for four men And I hope they will like the food

That all for now folks! Need to get some sleep! Just finished my tasks for my full-time job. See you!
