When we got home last Saturday from Divisoria, my daughter was taking her nap. I parked her new bag beside the door of our room, just enough for her to see part of it even if she was lying down on the bed. As expected, she excitedly got up from bed as soon as she saw the bag. She checked the bag and asked me if it was for her. She was delighted. I handed her the umbrella and she was so happy. Then she paused for a while and asked me about her princess bike. I answered her that she just continue praying for it. I told her that she should pray to God to bless Mommy and Daddy so we can buy her a bike. She also asked me where were the bag and umbrella came from. I told her I bought them from Divisoria. So when the helper of the landlady asked the same question to her few minutes later, she answered Soria. And when she was asked about her bike, she answered, “Pray pa”.
She’s been praying for four things; Princess Bike, Boots, Dora Umbrella and Princess Trolley Bag. She started praying for those things when she asked me to buy them for her. I told her to pray for it. When she prayed, instead of asking God, I usually heard her thanking God. Every Sunday, during the invitation, she would kneel on the stairs of the church altar for a while. After that, she would whisper to me that she’s done praying.
When her request had been granted, I asked her to thank God because those things were from the Lord. She immediately obeyed me and also thank God the remaining requests. I want to instill in her mind that everything comes from the Lord and He should be given the sincerest thanks.
It has been a long time battle with my daughter weaning her off her bottle. Unlike with her potty training which she immediately embraced, leaving her bottles behind is just too much for her. She is more than three years of age and whether she likes it or not, she needs to give up her bottles soon.
I want her to stop drinking milk from her bottles but I not from drinking milk. I want her to continuously drinks her milk until she’s grown up because milk is important for the body. My dilemma is if I take away the bottles forcefully, she might also stop drinking milk. This is the usual experience of the other mommies I’ve asked. So what I’m praying is that she’ll voluntarily give up her bottles. I also grab every opportunity which I can use to persuade her leave the bottles and use cups or mugs instead. When we went to Daiso, a Japanese store, one time, she eyed a fancy mug. She asked me to buy it for her. I told her that I can buy the mug but she should use the mug for her milk instead of the bottle. She agreed. But she immediately returned to her bottles after two tries. Needless to say, the first attempt was a failure.
Couple of days ago, I started another attempt. My husband and I were planning to switch her milk to another brand. But we need to know if she will like the prospective brand, so we only bought a sampler size. When she saw that I was getting another milk, she told me that she wanted it. So I told her, “Okay we will buy this, but you have to throw away your bottles and drink this milk from your mug.” She agreed again. That night, my husband and I asked her to throw her bottles. We handed to him a clean but used plastic bag and her bottles. We let her be the one to put the bottles in the plastic bag 
Then, I tied the plastic bag and let her saw that I put it in the waste bin. That night, she also drank her milk from the mug.
The next day, she was looking for her bottles. I reminded her that she threw them the night before. She checked the waste bin and found it clean. Hubby woke up earlier and cleaned the mess 
She’s drinking her milk from her mug for two days now. The frequency of her milk intake decrease but she is compensating it with eating solid foods. I do not also allow her to go bed without drinking her milk. If she don’t want to drink it directly from the mug, I just spoon it for her. It is too early to say that we win the battle this time but too early too to say it is another failure.

After using my laptop for weeks (or months?) and going back to my desktop, I realized that my desktop is at too slow compare to my laptop. The difference is obviously seen when loading an application. It takes time to load the application . I can’t also load multiple applications at the same time. Otherwise, my machine will really crawl.
My desktop is around three years of age, almost the same age with my daughter. Since then, I made no major upgrade. The CPU is intact with its original parts except for the power supply which I replaced twice. I haven’t upgraded the memory which is just 2GB. I am still using the original HDD with only 150GB capacity. Its Intel Core II processor still works. And even its defective optical drives were still inside. I can’t still find a budget for the replacements for now.
My machine can be considered obsolete now for many new high specification machines came out since I bought it. But I don’t think its near retirement. Not yet, at least for the next couple of years. I hope. I still need it for my full time work.
