Why? Because the observance of Labor Day is moved on Monday, May 3, 2010.

I mentioned on this post that May 1 is usually a holiday if it falls on a weekday. In this year’s case, May 1 is Saturday so I don’t expect to have an extra day off for this holiday. But because of the generosity of the government with holidays and the current holiday economic policy, the celebration of Labor Day is moved to May 3, 2010, Monday next week. This means that Monday will be a non-working holiday! Another long weekend coming!!! Hurray for laborers like me!

Yes! You read it right Our project group were given two days paid day-off, Thursday and Friday. Our US-based client is so generous to give this rest days with pay. And in case you forgot, Monday is a national holiday. Meaning, I will have a very long weekend. Unfortunately, we can’t afford to have a vacation nowadays. Our budget is so tight. I will be using the day-offs to see an OB for some checkup and also request a schedule for pap smear. I also need to visit the mall to buy my daughter the things that she will be needing on Monday. OH I forgot to mention that my daughter was requested to be part of my churchmate’s wedding entourage as a flower girl. I don’t know yet if I will buy her a new pair of shoes because she might not like it and won’t wear at all! But if ever we have an extra budget, I will bring her to the mall to let her choose the shoes she likes to make sure that the shoes will not just be another display on our shoe rack.

My husband will be throwing-out a dinner to some of his closest Pastors tomorrow night to express his gratitude for their prayers for the result of the LET. Instead of a dinner-out (which is more expensive), he convinced them to have the dinner here at home. As if we can cook well and our house is big! Nyahhaha! Anyways, he decided to serve only the dishes which are very easy to prepare. Among the dishes he listed include kinilaw na tuna with grilled liempo, sinigang na hipon and grilled bangus. One of the pastors requested for fruit salad for dessert. I think the dishes are good enough for four men And I hope they will like the food

That all for now folks! Need to get some sleep! Just finished my tasks for my full-time job. See you!

Sad to know that November 27 and November 28 will no longer be a National Holiday. The said holidays will only be observed in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao.

Last month, Malacañang declared that November 27 and November 28 will be a National Holiday in observance of Eid’l Adha, a Muslim festival. But Malacañang changed the scope of the said holiday because of the appeal of the manufacturing sector. Well, I understand them. With so many holidays, their production is directly affected. Malacañang already apologize for the sudden change.

Just this morning, my former office mate pinged me in YM the link of the article in inquirer.net stating that July 27 was declared as “INC Day” a non-working holiday. I am wondering why? Is it only because our president is fond of holidays or is there any deeper reason for this? She cannot claim that this is because majority of the Filipinos are members of INC because definitely, it’s not. She’s not even an INC. Is there another political agenda for this considering that this group claims that all their members unanimously vote for the candidates chosen by their leaders? If the government gave INC a national holiday, all other sect should also be given the same privilege. Don’t you think so? There should also be a Catholic Day, JIL Day, Baptist Day, Pentecostal Day and other religious group Day!

Our constitution is clear about the separation of state and church but in the last elections , I observed that many politicians were using religious groups just to win a post. Just like my daughter’s expression for dirt, “EWE”. Politicians are getting desparate and more desparate for power, wealth and popularity that they don’t mind to use whomever they can use just to win. I just hope that religious groups will not be deceived by their flowery words.

Let us pray for an upright, god-fearing and courageous men and women who will serve our country.

Our admin staff sent an email stating that July 2, Thursday, is a non-working Holiday for us in celebration of Pasig Day. This is a good time to rest after being stressed with my daughter’s coughs and colds. I have two less- sleep nights and and still need to work in the day time. I feel so tired.

I am thankful to God that my daughter is a little better now. She was able to sleep the entire night last night but her breathing is not yet fully normal. It was my hubby who made her slept last night because my eyes can no longer open because of sleepiness. I don’t know what time they slept last night, but when I woke up in the middle of the night, they were both sleeping already.

July 2 is a very timing day-off. I hope my daughter will continue to get better so I can have that day as a rest day.
