But I think daughter is an exception to the rule. During her last birthday, she requested for balloons, party hats & cake. She also announced to our neighbors and to her friends in the church that she would be celebrating her 3rd birthday. That left no choice but to cook some food for her visitors. Her wishes were granted by one of her Ninangs.

This reminds me that in more than a month she will be turning 4. We haven’t reminded her about this yet. We will yet to see if we can afford to cook for her because our fund is running out.  We might just buy her a cake or treat her somewhere on her special day.

This week’s theme for Mommy Moments is Purple. Fortunately, i’m daughter is fond of purple, violet, lavender and similar shades. For her, those are all purple.

This is my entry for Mommy Moments

My daughter loves to make fun of her face. She adores distorting it. So, today’s theme for Mommy Moments is an easy peasy (got this term from Kaye) task for me. Take a look on daughter’s wacky photos.

This was taken when she was sick last month. I just wanted to capture her dull eyes but made a face.

I don’t know what if she was really shouting or it was just an act.

She was ask to smile yet she made face.

When I knew the theme for today’s Mommy Moments, I decided to skip again. Because the truth is, neither I nor my husband have any material thing which I can pass to our daughter or to our future son (we are still praying for a son). We both came from a non well-to-do family. If the Lord will enable us to send our kids to college and He will permit them to get a degree, that is the only thing we can give to them. But I realized that though my husband and I lack material things to give to our kids, we still have something to leave them, and that is our faith in God. Though we cannot force them our belief, we can teach them the doctrines of the Bible and we can influence them through our testimonies to follow the same decision we made when we accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as our Lord and personal Saviour. I think that is the only and best heritage we can leave them.

Here are my current favorites. I’ve already shared some of them few weeks ago.

Most kids love parks and my daughter is not exempted. She prefers park visits than malling and that is advantageous for me because visiting a park is way less expensive than malling.

Before,  we had an easy access to a park or should I say,  a playground? There was a nearby children’s park in our place before. But it didn’t last for so long. As if it was built to be destroyed. It was just left to the use of the public without someone who would ensure that the facilities were properly used.  Also, the most users didn’t bother to use with care. In result, we have a children’s park that  is not safe for children’s use. Ironic eh?

Now, whenever my daughter wants to go to the park, we go Quezon City Memorial Circle. This is the nearest free decent park in our place. Thanks to Honorable Sonny Belmonte for developing the park to be a more child-friendly park.

My daughter is a ride fanatic! Whether on real cars and motorbikes or amusement parks rides, it will be surely a hit for her.  But I realized that I don’t have much photo of her while riding. Maybe because it is no longer a big deal for us when she rides. That or we are not camera ready most of the time. If you think we have so much money to spend on rides, you are wrong   We only bring her to cheap rides. The maximum fee of the ride should not exceed ten pesos, LOL. The rides in Walter Mart and QC Memorial circle (outside Circle of Fun) fit that price  (only 5 pesos per token) so those places are our usual destination. With only fifty pesos ($1) she can already enjoy so many rides. Fun should not need to be expensive

I also want to bring her to Enchanted Kingdom but I think I still have to wait for a year or two. I don’t think she’ll enjoy most of the rides right now and of course, our current financial situation will not also allow us to bring her there

My daughter loves bags, especially the pink ones and the Dora the Explorer bags. Even a Dora paper bag will surely be a hit for her. I remember one time, someone gave her something on a Dora paper bag. She received the paper bag, uttered a thanks then placed the Dora bag on her shoulder, walked here and there as if modeling the bag. She didn’t care whatever inside the paper bag, she was only after the Dora paper bag. I had a good laugh that time.

I couldn’t buy her a Dora bag until recently. This is because either the bag is too big for her or the price is so unreasonable for a bag. So when I found a Dora bag that was big enough for her and would not hurt my pocket, I immediately bought the bag.  She immediately tried it when she saw it. This became her official bag whenever we left the house.

Aside from her Dora back pack, she is using an official school bag. She wants a stroller bag, but we (my husband and I) think that she don’t need it yet. Most of her books and notebooks were left in her classroom except on a Friday so she don’t need a big bag yet. Another reason is that she seldom walks from our house to her school and vice versa by herself. You guess it right! She always asks her father to carry her. Hubby is her official school service, LOL! It would be very inconvenient to carry her while pulling a stroller, right? So her official school bag is blue shoulder bag given to her by one of her Ninangs, few months ago.

And if she feels like to be kikay, this is the bag she uses.

This is the 3rd week since my daughter started going to school. She’s not yet formally enrolled and just attending the class as a sit-in student. Although, she’s just sitting-in, my husband and I decided to buy her books, notebooks and other school things so she will not feel different from her classmates. We also bought her a pair of black shoes because every morning, when I dress her up, she always asks for a black shoes. During the first and second week, she was wearing her Sunday shoes which was white.

This was she during the first day of school. She was not yet in uniform. She was not too happy to go to school, was she?

Friday of  her first week in school, the registrar gave her the display uniform for the ID pictorial.  So after a week,  she was already in uniform but in white Sunday shoes

She’s the youngest in her class at her age of three. She never missed any school day yet and it seems that she’s really enjoying their class. She started learning how to write through tracing. She’s also improving with her coloring skills. I told her that when she colors an objects in her books, the colors should be confined within the object’s boundary. Any excess color results to ugly work. As the days go by, I see that she’s really improving.

She’s also learning memory verses. Aside from the previous memory verses I taught her, she learned two more. Isn’t that great? Now, she’s on the third memory verse which is  Exodus 14:31b.

She is  still under probationary. In one or two weeks more, the teacher will assess if my daughter is ready for Nursery class.   Do you think Sciezka is ready for real school? I will let you know the assessment of her teacher.
