WFW – 2 Chronicles 7:14

Word Filled Wednesday

Word Filled Wednesday

The purpose of Word filled Wednesday is to share God’s word through photo’s & a verse!

IIChronicles 7: 14

This verse was emphasized last Sunday, during our morning worship service. The message was about healing. God, who is the greatest healer, is not only capable to heal our physical infirmities. He is also the healer of our broken spirit. He heals our empty pockets too and most importantly, He is able to heal our land, the source of our food, one of our basic necessities.

I find the message very timely especially the last part, healing the land. Here in the Philippines, we are currently experiencing El Niño, which causes severe drought on many provinces. Vast agricultural lands are affected.  Some farmers harvest their crops even before the harvest time because their  plants just get dried up.  Irrigation and water dams are drying up as well.  If the drought continues due to lack or minimal rain fall, the bigger effect is food shortage.

Can any human being solved this climate phenomenon? I doubt! Only God has power over nature only Him can make the rain fall and stop. So if only God can control the weather, what can we do as human beings? The Bible gives an instruction on what to do to solve this problem. The solution is found in II Chronicles 7:14 where it says “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. ” Are you God’s people? Then let us humble ourselves and pray and turn back to God, so our land will be healed.

I share with you years of drought and the dragging down of my heart and spirit…but there is a Geoff Bullock song that says………I will find you in the desert, where the sand is Holy Ground…..I hang onto that as I look out on an almost sandy back lawn at times.
